United Bowl & CFL Week 2

The DC Defenders were back to defend their title against the Louisville Kings. DC QB Jordan Ta'amu went down with injury in week 8 against the Kings and backup QB Jason Bean led the offense until he went down with injury five minutes into the third quarter. At that point DC held a 16-10 lead. From that point the Kings scored seventeen points to the Defenders lone four point field goal. The Louisville Kings won the game 27-20 and the United Bowl title. On Thursday the Hamilton Tiger Cats beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 37-27. Tiger Cat QB Bo Levi Mitchell 19-24-287-3-0, RB Larry Roundtree rushed 23-124-0, WR Keric Wheatfall targeted 5 times with 3-102-0. Winnipeg QB Zach Collaros 28-35-421-2-1 but the entire team only ran for 49 yards, WR Tommy Nield targeted 9 times for 7-111-0. On Friday the Toronto Argonauts traveled to play the Monteal Alouettes. The game at halftime was Tor 13 Mtl 14, after three quartes Tor 20 Mtl 17. In the fourth quarter thirty combined points were scored with Montreal winning 37-30. Toronto QB Chad Kelly 28-46-445-3-1, they ran for 71 yards, WR Kevin Mital targeted 8 times for 7-109-1. Montreal QB Davis Alexander 30-42-441-2-0, team rushed for 51 yards, WR Tyson Philpot 12-9-193-2, WR Jerreth Sterns 11-9-114-0. On Saturday the British Columbia Lions traveled to play the Saskatchewan Roughriders. This was probably the best game of the week. At halftime BC 10 SSK 17, after three quarters BC 17 SSK 21. The fourth quarter saw multiple lead changes with the Riders leading 31-27 and BC driving with time running out drove into Riders territory. The last play of the game BC had the ball at the Riders 33 yard line and a Lion attempted pass short of the goal line falls incomplete. BC QB Nathan Rourke 24-37-330-0-0, team ran for 99 yards, WR Justin McInnis 10-8-129-0.
