Friday Night CFL Football

If you are tired of the "Joe Montana five yard pass attempt" or check down passing and want to see more vertical passing, then the BC Lions at Hamilton Tiger-Cats Friday night game was for you. HAM QB Bo Levi Mitchell, a 14 yr veteran and four Grey Cup apperances (2 wins, 2 losses) lit up the night sky in Hamilton. Mitchell 15-18-285-5-0, he averaged nineteen yards per completion on the night. On the second play of the game Mitchell hit WR Kiondre Smith for a 56 yard TD pass. On the Ti-Cats next possession Mitchell hits WR Myron Mitchell for another 56 yard pass play. By halftime the Ti-Cats were up 27-9.

On the Lions side of the ball they did move the ball but couldn't put it in the end zone until late. Kicking field goals while the opposing team scores touchdowns is not a formula for many victories in any football league. The two fourth quarter touchdowns made the score seem closer than the game actually was. BC 27 HAM 41. The victory puts HAM record at 2-1 and drops BC to 0-2 for the year.

Saturday is a triple header starting at 1pm EST.
