PIT HC Vacancy
Mike Tomlin resigned as head coach of the Steelers, bringing the total of head coaching job available to nine. ATL, AZ, BAL, CLE, LV, MIA, NYG, PIT, TEN.
In the NFL, as in life, nothing is guaranteed and a new coach may or may not lead the Steelers to another championship. But it has been fifteen years since their last Super Bowl appearance and seventeen years since their last championship so doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is insanity. Whatever they do they should not hire a Bill Belichick protegee because they have a bad track record.
My guess is that the Steelers will hire a young coach and they start to rebuild which will lead to their first losing season in years. Their success or lack thereof will depend on whether they find their franchise QB.
Back on December 11th, I mentioned in the post about the AFC North firing all their head coaches. Well, the only coach left is CIN's Zac Taylor and it should be a crime to waste another year of Joe Burrow's career.
