Monday Night Matchup
Tonight's game: LAR @ ATL
Grande Pickem:
In the Premiere Division, Josh is finishing the year strong as he has won for the second week in a row.
In the Prime Division, Todd wins the week, he also is finishing the season strong as he has either won or tied for the lead in the last three weeks.
In my comments about the Steelers-Browns game, the Browns offense wasn't impressive but they did enough as their defense won the game. I will try and keep this rant short: Mike Tomlin AGAIN played down to the competition and lost to a team with three wins entering the week. PLEASE tell me AGAIN how Tomlin is a great coach because not winning games you are supposed to win isn't a mark of a great coach, he has done this time and time again. The Steelers who had a division title within their grasp, will go into the final week of the season and probably lose to the Ravens and miss the playoffs. But I will hear the talking heads say, but Mike Tomlin still hasn't had a losing season. But let's look at it like this, Mike Tomlin will be 1-18 in becoming a Super Bowl Champion (with some very talented teams within that span). So, take that Chris Collinsworth. I will always go back to this, Jan 8, 2012, AFC Wild Card game against Tim Tebow and the 8-8 Denver Broncos. The 12-4 Steelers, a 7.5 point favorite, lose in overtime to Tim "Jump Pass" Tebow!!! Ahhgg!!! WHY wasn't he fired on Jan 9, 2012???? One could argue that the Steelers missed at least one Super Bowl appearance, if not multiple appearances by keeping Mike Tomlin as head coach. But yeah, he will probably be enshrined into the Hall of Fame with his ONE Super Bowl victory, with a team Bill Cowher built.
In other games, the Bills started their opening drive well but a fumble was a big momentum changer and then later the blocked extra point was the other big mistake. Two plays that cost them a chance at the Division title. The 49ers had 32 first downs and the Bears had 26 in a game that came down to the last play. And NO-TEN was a pretty good game, the Saints were down by ten at halftime and came back and won by eight points.
