This week I don't see any easy games to pick. Also, going back to the Grande Digest issue #48, page 11, the weekly winning percentage of the last three season, this week is the lowest winning percentage of the year. Will this year be different?
TB@DAL - The Bucs appear to be on a sinking ship and rookie Jalon Daniels is starting QB but they do have the number 4 defense for total yards against. The Cowboys defense still hasn't figured out how to stop the opposing teams. Picking the Cowboys just feels wrong but here I am going with Dak Prescott.
PHI@JAX - If the Eagles are without RB Barkley their struggling offense will be on life support. The Jags play overseas every year so this London game will be old hat for them.
CIN@MIA - The Bengals could be missing both big play receivers this week and could give the Dolphins a shot a win number one. This game has all the earmarks of an upset but I'm going with the Bengals.
MIN@NO - The Viking offense is in need of an NFL caliber QB. Winning games solely on the backs of the defensive unit. The Saints defense is 26th in yards against and giving up 32 pts a game. With these numbers the Vikings should at least be able to score two offensive TD's.
LV@NE - This is a tough one. Have the Patriots fixed their early season problems or are they just going to continue the pattern of winning one game and losing the next? I want to pick the Raiders but I am going with the home team.
CLE@NYJ - The Jets are favored in this game, the Browns don't seem like they are getting any respect. The've beaten TB & PIT, which are sub-par teams and beaten CAR. The Jets only win was against the Titans. I have to go against the odds and pick CLE.
HOU@TEN - The internet is making fun of this game and rightfully so with two winless teams. HOU has been a disappointment and TEN and QB Cam Ward haven't improved from last year. Barring a tie, someone is getting a W and that team should be the Texans.
IND@PIT - Two mediocre teams battling for mediocrity. Daniel Jones appears to have revert back to his Giants playing days. Aaron Rodgers looks like he should be retired. Going with the home team again.
NYG@WAS - QB Jayden Daniels appears to be starting this week and that should tip the scales toward a Commanders victory.
DEN@LAC - Are the Chargers really going to go 0-5? What has Mike McDaniel done to the talented Justin Herbert? I hope the damage isn't permanent. Will this defeat lead to the firing of McDaniel? Something needs to change in LA but probably won't this week.
DET@AZ - How the Lions have fallen. Their defense is last in total yards against but their offense will be facing a Cardinal defense that is 25th, which should lead to a victory.
CHI@GB - If the Bears stay with the running game against a Pack defense that is 28th against the run a CHI victory should be eminent. The Pack are in turmoil and need to figure it out fast.
SF@SEA - The 49ers have won the last four seasons in Seattle and I'm going with making it five years in a row. SF just seems to be running on all cylinders right now. The loss of RB Kenneth Walker to the Chiefs is a big impact on the Seattle offense.
BAL@ATL - It looks as if the Ravens will be without Lamar Jackson and without him their winning percentage drops dramatically. ATL looked very impressive against the Saints Monday night and should continue their winning ways.
BUF@LAR - Another tough game for me. The Bills defense is 27th against the pass and 19th against the run. LAR QB Matthew Stafford may have hit the age barrier signalling his decline because he has thrown 6 INT's and his QB rating is 80.5, far from his MVP year. But going against this defense may be just what the doctor ordered.
