Commissioner's Picks - Week 3

Commissioner's Picks - Week 3
The Mystic says:"When the crystal ball fogs up it is time bring out the Howard Cosell inside of you."

My picks for week 3:

GB
BUF
CAR
HOU
DET
NE
KC
NYG
CIN
SEA
SF
MIN
BAL
NO
LAR
PHI

Last week I had a very average week, let's see if I can pick it up a notch this week. First game is ATL@GB - the Falcons will be starting Penix this week so their non existent offense will get a boost. The Packers have yet to show they are a dominant team as they needed overtime to beat the Jets last week. This game will probably be closer than the Packers would like.

Games that should go to the better teams: KC@MIA...SEA@WAS... SF@AZ. And PHI should win over CHI who will probably start a third string QB.

LAC@BUF - Can the Charger offense find a spark that will get it started this year? If not, the Bills offense could put the game away early.

CAR@CLE - The Panther offense is ranked #4 in total yards after two weeks but the defense is #30. Were the Browns gifted a win by the Bucs last week or will they make it a two game winning streak? I think the Browns have a lot of work to do before they get my vote.

HOU@IND - Which team will be 0-3 at the end of the game? If the Texan defense can keep the Colt running game in check they could get their first win of the season. The Colts seem to be a team that just can't get over the hump from an average team to a good team.

NYJ@DET - In theory this game should fall under the easy pick games. But the Lions keep dealing with defensive injuries that hamper their team. The Jets are playing much better than last year, going from a bad QB situation to improved situation (we'll see how much improvement as the season progresses) but the Lions should earn a hard fought victory.

NE@JAX - The Jags unable to close out a victory against a tough Bronco team in Denver doesn't qualify as the end of the season for JAX but it is concerning. Now they have to face last year's conference champions and a win could put confidence back into the team. However, the Patriots want to prove last year wasn't a mirage. This should come down to QB play and I give the edge to Maye over Lawrence.

TEN@NYG - The Giants are favored but without Dart this could be a difficult game to watch. This could be an upset game as the Titans could keep it close and pull it out at the end. Or as I am predicting, the Titans find a way to lose.

CIN@PIT - This could be the game of the week but with the Steelers offense as bad as it is the Bengals should be able to stay undefeated.

MIN@TB - If the Vikings had a good QB situation this game would be under the easy picks. But Kyler Murray is back under center and he always gives the other team a chance to win. But the Bucs are another offense that is stuck in neutral so the Vikings should have another hard fought victory.

BAL@DAL - It seems the Ravens should just hand the ball off to Henry 60 times for an easy win. The Cowboys were able to easily beat a team who lost their starting QB last week. I think the Ravens overlooked the Saints last week and they should play sixty minutes this week for the win.

LV@NO - The Raiders beat a poor Dolphins team and then a Charger team that has yet to find it offense. Now they will go into the Superdome and play an inspired team and it will probably end with their first loss of the season.

Sunday night, LAR@DEN - Even though the Rams beat a team without their starting QB, that could be what sets this team on a winning streak. The Broncos are continuing the habit from last year of not playing a full sixty minutes. Not playing a full game against Matthew Stafford is not a winning formula.
