The Grande Pickem: The NFL regular season has 272 games and 13 playoff games, for a total of 285 total games to pick. When I start the season my personal objectives are to 1. finish the regular season under 100 losses. 2. Finish the regular season and playoffs under 100 losses. To accomplish those objectives I need winning percentages of 63.6 and 65.3 and I am currently within range of those goals. But those conniving Atlanta Falcons and their conspiratorial accomplices have other plans for my record.

Upsets. We are getting to the point of the season where playoff qualifiers who have secured a seeding may decide to rest their starters and could potentially be "upset". Thursday we saw the Vikings upset the Lions and knock them out of the playoffs. Again, this week I can't see an upset happening but here are some games to watch. BAL@GB will be interesting because both starting QB's were in doubt this week and GB QB Jordan Love won't be playing. PIT@CLE is a divisional game and those can be unpredictable but the Brown offense has been mostly DOA this year and I don't see that changing this week. TB@MIA is noteworthy because the Bucs are on a 3 game losing streak and have lost 5 of their last 6 games since coming of their bye. NO@TEN shouldn't make this list but these two teams have been scrappy behind their rookie QB's. CHI@SF this game could be the game of the week.
